Ahmed Mohamed,PhD, P.Eng.
Assistant Professor and Geomatics Program Advisor
Ahmed Mohamed joined the School in August 2006 in a research and instruction faculty position. Before joining the University of Florida, he was Director of the Geomatics Engineering Technology program of the Royal Commission, Saudi Arabia. From 1999-2004 he lead a team of scientists at the Alberta Research Council, Canada to develop Geomatics technologies. He worked as research and teaching assistant at the University of Calgary between 1994 and 1999. Ahmed also worked for Qatar University and Ain-shams University and held past industrial positions in Canada and Egypt.
Research Interests. Geomatics navigation and mapping technologies including direct geo-referencing, GPS/GNSS, inertial navigation, digital imaging, LiDAR, and geospatial informatics, and their applications in resource management and operation

John Perry
John Perry graduated from the Geomatics program in August 2007. He is currently completing his Master's degree in Geomatics. John's work is focused in the area of navigation and signal processing to develop new direct georeferencing algorithms on lightweight mobile platforms.

Youssef Kaddoura
Youssef Kaddoura is a graduate student in the Geomatics Program in the University of Florida currently working on Navigation issues for his Ph.D. He obtained a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Lebanese American University in 2000, and M.Sc. in Computer Information Science and Engineering from Unversity of Florida.

Sowmya Selvarajan
Sowmya a PhD student joined the Geomatics program in August 2007. Her interests lie in remote sensing technologies: image processing, feature extraction. Prior to this, she worked as a Remote Sensing Consultant at Spatial Innovision Pte. Ltd., Kingston, Jamaica and as a part time lecturer at the University of Technology, Jamaica teaching remote sensing at under-graduate and graduate levels. She is currently pursuing her PhD with special interests in LiDAR mapping and how to integrate this latest technology with existing remote sensing data.

Richard Guilfoyle
Richard is currently an undergrad student of the Geomatics Program at the University of Florida. Formerly employed by the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine as a Senior Electronic Technician. Focus is on measurement errors and system integration.
